Bangalore calling....

After a long time, I have got the freedom to access the internet. Its the eve of a beautiful diwali but I don't have the luck to be at home. Wish I celebrate a wonderful diwali at namma bengaluru. According to me, the city does not have an energy which I used to see back home.

Sai's Travelogue Part 2

I think I forgot to write something in my first edition. It was unusually raining in mid-summer in Coimbatore. The train's scheduled departure was delayed by an hour and all passengers were held up over the platform. I somehow managed to get a seat which wasn't wet. Guess what? Though there are shelters made up of asbestos over the platform, the water keeps leaking through the holes in the roof. I kept watching at a woman who has some mental disorder. Actually she is a beggar. I began imagining what she kept thinking in her mind. I assume she was imagining herself as a queen who kept talking to her maids over some task. She went on talking giving orders to everyone. As I was watching her, her head turned towards and stared at my eyes. I diverted my attention immediately. There was a little kid sitting on the lap of his mom who kept pulling my shirt while I was watching this old lady. Later I found that the kid was a special child and his arms were criss-cross and he had some problems. I felt bad about it. All of a sudden, the mad woman started shouting at the tea vendor. She took out a steel glass from her belongings and landed it over the platform with a great thud. I was shocked to see her ordering the vendor to give her tea in the name of God! The vendor never cared for her and moved forward to find a victim to sell his cups. This woman started praying by prostrating to the platform surfae. All the passengers were glued to her theatrical behaviour. It was quite interesting and the best way to spend time in a platform when your train is late. Later, I decided to move forward to the other side of the platform since the three tier AC coaches are expected to be positioned at the anterior side of the train while departing from Coimbatore.

Sai's Travelogue

Though I am a S.I now, I am getting very lazier to type stuff. Anyways, this post was in my mind for quite a long time. Yup, I am going to talk about my experience of my train journey to an interview. First, let me talk about the difficulty I faced in booking the tickets for this wonderful journey. Since I received the confirmed dates as late as possible, I ended up at cross-roads with no tickets to travel. My planned journey dates were May 12 and May 14. Thanks to the government's vague policies of releasing the tatkal quota 5 days before the journey. I had to be at the railway station on May 7 and May 9, as early as 8 a.m to get myself a ticket. Else, travel agents would have booked all the tickets with fake names. It was like performing a tapas, upside down to buy the tickets.
In the final leg of my journey, I happen to learn that the tickets get booked up by 30 minutes after releasing the tatkal quota for a particular day. This is ridiculous. With more travellers, the government needs to find more trains. After all what are the railways are for?
It was a rainy Monday in Coimbatore. 6:30 a.m. Mom called Bairavan, the autodriver to drop me at the railway station. I usually don't like the inquisitive nature of strangers who are so curious to know my destination and why I am going to that place. Bairavan is one such example and I was patient to answer queries. I felt sad for his ignorance since he does not know the journey duration as well as the location of Bombay in the India map. He wished me good luck.
The display showed that the Lokmanya tilak Express from Kurla would arrive at 7:45 a.m., running late by an hour and fifteen minutes. I got irritated by this delay. I was kept waiting at the platform which was something more than mud and cement for nearly 90 minutes. Later, they train arrived by 8 a.m, 15 minutes more than the promised delay! We weren't allowed to enter the coaches until 8:45 a.m since they required cleaning. The train moved out of the station by 9:30 a.m. My seat was a side lower berth which I hate. My co-passenger was a middle aged person travelling to Namma Bengaluru!
My other co-passengers were a couple returning from their honeymoon( who were more friendly to me!), An old tamil brahmin granny going to BLR, A software engineer bound to Pune......

When I met her....

Don't find yourself turned on with the titles my dear reader. There are no surprises in here. I just wanted to attract you out of this title. I went to the railway station yesterday to book my tickets for a interview scheduled earlier next week. I met a woman whom I already met somewhere. It took me sometime to recognise that it was my Hindi teacher. Oh my God! yes! She was my Hindi teacher Ms. Prema. I kept staring at her since she has grown old and was scared that whether she would recognise me. The ticket queue system is one where unit to move in a line which is serpentine and you have too keep displacing your positions based upon your turn. Actually you have seats in the line. Since it is a serpentine one, she came near me on the other side of the line. I decided not to talk with her assuming that she would have forgotten me. She turned to me and asked:
Son did you study at Carmel?
I was shocked. She remembers me. I told yes. She asked what I was doing now. We were able to talk for very few moments. I had to move further in the queue. Later after the purchase of my ticket, I went to her to bid goodbye.
She asked me whether I have got placed. I told her that I have got a good job by God's grace and that I am trying for better options.
She told me God Bless you my son.
I couldn't hide my happiness and I thanked her a lot. She asked me
Your name is Sriram right?

Oh my God! She remembers my name too!!!!(At least a half of it!!) I was so happy that I coudn't resist talking with her. Since I had to leave, I thanked her once again. I was very happy yesterday and later when I told my mom, she told me that thats the gift of a teacher. They love all their students and try to remember throughout the life. I am quite nostalgic since then and I am not able to forget Ms. Prema. Wish her blessings continue. I have had the pleasure of being with the best teacher in the world...........

Question Papers

Could see these question papers? These were the final three papers I wrote in my UG life. There is no chance that I could get these back. These memories will never fade in my heart. I have gone so crazy to publish it through scanner.

Bachelor of Engineering

My God! I am a to-be graduate now. I finally finished my eighth semester exams yesterday. Though it was horrible, I am happy that I am done once for all. My marks keep worrying me. My friends keep worrying me. Though I am not sentimental and blah blah blah. I wish it would have been nice if I were able to get those days back. The fact which makes me happy is that my class is one where 29 out of 30 students have got placed. We have achieved 100% results in the 7th semester and my batch is one where we have achieved 100% pass out rate. Wish everyone finds their best track. Miss you people!

Entry ya No Entry

It was a beautiful morning on a Saturday. I had no work and I was in a somber mood. Called up my dearest friend, Vikram:
Me: Hi, man wass up?
Viki: Nothing much, boring dude.
Me: Care to join me for a movie?
Viki: Why not? Which movie?
Me: Hmm, Jodhaa Akbar in Tamil
Viki: When am I supposed to join you?
Me: Ok fine.
The movie went fine for me in Tamil too. When I crossed the street to go home, I noticed a board indicating "ENTRY" into a particular road. I was quite happy to find the shortest way back home. At the other end of the road, it was shocking to observe that another sign board indicated "NO ENTRY". It was the same road having two conditions. Impasse?

Vacancy

As I had mentioned earlier, my movie thirst has gone increasing exponentially every day. One of them was Vacancy. It was a nail biting thriller involving a couple who stay in a hotel of a remote location. The story was about three psychopath killers attempting to murder them. I am shocked to observe that the woman is able to survive amidst all difficulties. A good movie though. It was as short as 80 minutes. I would call this movie far better from Texas Chainsaw. I just hate such stuff. One thing which makes me feel weird is that such people co-exist with us. One must not miss movies of these sorts.

Ki Moo 10,000

I developed the habit of watching movies aplenty. Thanks to my friend. He wants me to accompany him to all the stuff he wishes to watch. One of them was 10000B.C. I hate historic stuff and the fact that the movie was not released in English, anywhere made it pathetic. My friend wanted to see it in Tamil and it was named as Ki Moo 10000. Ki Moo in Tamil means Before Christ or Christhu Pirapadharku Mun. Ah the movie was horrible in Tamil though the story was good.
In exhchange, I got a written declaration from my friend that he would accompany me for 10 useless movies....
What an idea?

Reminiscence

Well my college life is nearing its end. I am proud that I was awarded a chance to talk about college memories on behalf of my department. What a flop? I got scared seeing the crowd. There is always a next time......
